concert October 5th, 2000 at the TonhalleZurich - sold out.
The Niziol Quartet
performs with passion, virtuosity and a wide palette of tone colours and
touches its audience through the depth of its playing. Its members are
from Poland, USA, Switzerland and Russia. They came together as players
in the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra.

Christopher Whiting
Born in San Francisco, USA. Educated at the University of California,
Berkeley and Lucerne Conservatory. Formerly 2nd concertmaster of the Festival
Strings Lucerne and member of the Zurich Opera. A member of the Tonhalle
Orchestra since 1999. He teaches at the Musikhochsule Zurich and is active
as conductor and journalist.

Michel Willi
Swiss, a frequent winner of the Swiss Youth Music Competition and the
Kiefer-Hablitzel Foundation. A member of the Tonhalle Orchestra, formerly
of the Festival Strings Lucerne. An active chamber musician with the Swiss
Octet, Bavarian Chamber Philharmonic, modern pop music and the ensemble,
Salon Passion.

Alexander Neustroev
Born in Novosibirsk, Russia. Educated in Moscow, later in Germany with
D. Geringas. Awarded "Best Russian Cellist" at the Rostropovich
Competition in Paris. Finalist at the 1998 Tchaikovsky Competition in
Moscow. First prize and special prize for interpretation at the Adam Cello
Competition in New Zealand. Assistant principal cello at the Tonhalle
Orchestra.
